Day 1  Arrival   /  Shanghai 

Transfer via: Flight   - By your own arrangement

Welcome to Shanghai, China's most modern metropolis. We meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you have free time to relax.

Day 2  Shanghai  (L)

Shanghai Tour

Depart from your hotel to visit the Bund in the morning. Have a stroll along the waterfront to experience the smells, sights and sounds of the old "Wall Street" in Shanghai. Banks, trading houses, residences, hotels and clubs all had a view of bustling Huangpu River traffic as they shared in the city s rising and falling fortunes. Then walking along the famous shopping street-Nanjing Road. It is said that shopping in Shanghai is the most varied and rewarding thing in China.

Then visit the Yuyuan Garden. This delightfully restored labyrinth of tiny specialty shops, tea and snack houses centered a Ming-dynasty mandarin Suzhou-style garden is a fascinating spot to people-watch over a pot of tea, to shop for unique souvenirs and to get a feel for Old Shanghai. It is well worth a meander through the Yuyuan Garden, which has many scenic courtyards decorated with baroque rockery, pools and flora, all connected by corridors and passageways.

Then visit Yuyuan Market.

Follow with the Jade Buddha Temple. Built in 1911, it is the most famous and one of the most active Buddhist temples in Shanghai. Named for its two bejeweled white jade Buddha, one is 1000kg, 1.9 meter-high figure carved from Burmese jade brought to China in 1882, and a smaller reclining Buddha, the temple receives thousands of visitors and worshipers daily. Although Chinese New Year and the Buddha' s birthday are the most popular time to visit the temple for the faithful, it is possible to witness ceremonies at other times.

After having lunch at a nice local restaurant, visit the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower. With its 468 meters high (1,536 feet), the tower is the third tallest TV and radio tower in the world as well as the tallest structure in Asia. It is the best place to have a birds-eye-view of Shanghai City. With its unique and amazing design, it has become the new landmark of Shanghai and a big magnet for tourists. The viewing area is half-way up and offers a splendid unparalleled view of the Bund, the emerging new modern Shanghai. The view of Shanghai from this height fills you with wonder at the beauty that surrounds you.

At the end of the day trip, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 3  Shanghai   /  Guilin  (B,L)

Visit Old French Concession Area once designated for the French. Today, the area's central Huaihai Rd is a busy shopping street, but the tree-lined avenues and their many Tudor mansions still retain an air of the "Paris of the East". Then visit Shanghai Museum, the biggest museum in China, with a collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese art & cultural relics. It is especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Guilin. Upon arrival in Guilin, be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 4  Guilin  (B,L)

Guilin Tour

After breakfast, pay a visit the Fubo Hill, half of it stands in the river and the other half of it on land. On the top of the hill, it offers a lovely bird view of the downtown of Guilin city; you also may over look the Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin. Then visit the Reed Flute Cave, known as "the Palace of Natural Arts", it is the largest limestone landform cave in Guilin. After that, we will be drove to Lu Jia Village, located at the riverbank of Taohuajiang River which absolutely hidden in the scenic area where local people here made a living by making and selling tofu. Visiting Lu Jia Village, you may have a chance to taste tofu & delicious local tofu feast and have a chance to experience the villagersílife. In the afternoon, we will have a walk around the Banyan Lake and Fir Lake Scenic Area where you may see many delicate Chinese traditional stone bridges & Glass Bridge, Sun and Moon pagodas, as well as The Ancient South Gate, was constructed in Tang Dynasty and expanded in Ming Dynasty. In front of the gate is a 1,000-year-old Banyan tree with flourishing leaves by the lake.

Day 5  Guilin   /  Yangshuo  (B,L)

Li River Cruise

After breakfast, you will be driven about 45 minutes to Zhujiang pier to take a cruise along the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo and it will give you a chance to savor the lovely view of the area's extraordinary limestone peaks, graceful bamboo groves, farmers tending rice paddies, and lumbering water buffaloes pulling carts or cooling off in the river. You may see fishermen gliding along on their narrow bamboo rafts, and if you're very lucky you might see one of the famous fishing cormorants. Boats depart from various wharves, according to the height of the river at different times of the year.

After about 3 hours sailing, you will get to a small town called Xingping, at this time, you are highly recommended to climb to the third floor of the ship, and take out your 20 Yuan note. Look back, you will find the primary image on the reverse side of the new 20 Yuan note. The best position to take picture is put yourself in this spectacular view.

Day 6  Yangshuo   /  Guilin   /  Chengdu  (B,L)

After breakfast, you will escape by bicycle to the small roads, lanes and tracks of the distinctive and beautiful Yangshuo countryside. Biking alongside the paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains will give a fascinating insight into life in rural China. You will have a family visit on the half way. It is an opportunity to see a real country life and talk to the local famers.

Transfer from Yangshuo to Guilin airport for the flight to Chengdu.

Upon arrival in Chengdu, be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 7  Chengdu  (B,L)

Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu

After breakfast, drive to visit the must-see giant pandas in Panda Breeding and Research Center. The best time to visit is in the morning, during feeding time between 8:30 and 10:30. After then, it's likely that the bears will be indulging in their favorite pastime. Sleeping! In the afternoon, pay a visit to Sanxindui Ruins. It is recognized as one of the most important ancient remains in the world for its vast size, lengthy period (about 5,000 years) and enriched cultural contents.

Day 8  Chengdu   /  Lhasa  (B,L)

Transfer via: Flight   - By our arrangement

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Lhasa. On your arrival to Lhasa, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Free at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude. Remember to drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep for the long journey ahead.

Day 9  Lhasa  (B,L)

Today's highlight is Potala Palace, which is the former winter home of the Dalai Lama and the greatest monumental structure in Tibet. Then visit Jokhang Temple and the Barkhor Street, which is the oldest street in Lhasa as well as the center of old Lhasa and remains very traditional. It is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble.

Day 10  Lhasa  (B,L)

Tibet Tour

First visit Sera Monastery. It is known as one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet. As one of the three main monasteries of Lhasa, it is here that the monks "famous daily debates" take place.

And then continue our tour to Norbulingka. Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden". It was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama and later served the whole governmental administration.

Then drive to Drepung Monastery. Drepung Monastery the most well known feature of the monastery is its large white pagodas. The monastery's buildings are centered around them. Every year the Drepung Monastery unravels the largest Thangka in the world on the hill overlooking the monastery.

Day 11  Lhasa   /  Shigatse  (B,L)

After breakfast, drive to Yomdrok Lake, a Holy Lake which everybody is looking forward to.

After the lunch, visit the Pelkor Chode & Kumbum. It is very different from other monasteries. Built as a Tibetan monastery, its structural style is very unique, reputed as the lord of Tibetan stupas. In addition, it is famous for the architecture, sculpture, and mural painting art. It lies about 270 kilometers (168 miles) south of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east of Shigatse at the foot of Dzong Hill.

Day 12  Shigatse  (B,L)

Tibetan Monastery

Visit Tashilunpo Monastery, one of the biggest Gelukpa monastery & the seat of Panchen Lama. Tashilunpo has one of the world's largest 9 storey bronze statue of Maitriya, the future Buddha.
In the afternoon, drive to Sakya Monastery, the seat of Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. Stay overnight at Sakya Hotel.

Day 13 Shigatse   /  Tingri  (B,L)

Drive on the main overland route and the road rise steeply up the foothills of the Himalayas via Pangla Pass to arrive at Rongbuk Monastery, the world's highest monastery situated at 5200m, just below the Rongbuk glacier. En route visit Sakya, the seat of the Sakyapa School of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight at Rongbuk.

Day 14  Tingri   /  Shigatse (B,L)

After another magical sunrise over Everest & an excursion to Everest Base Camp, we drive on to Shigaste. From the barren landscape of the Tibetan Plateau, you cross the mighty Himalayas and are greeted with the greenery of the foothills.

Day 15  Shigatse   /  Lhasa  (B,L)

Drive for about 5 hours back to Lhasa. The rest of day is at leisure.

Day 16  Lhasa   /  Beijing  (B)

Transfer via: Flight - By our arrangement

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Beijing. Upon arrive in Beijing, be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 17  Beijing  (B,L)

Great Wall Tour

Today you will have a visit to the majestic Badaling Great Wall and Sacred Road, which is a path lined with stone statues of animals, mystical beasts and officials who will serve the emperor in the afterlife. On your way back from the Great Wall, you will drive around the main Olympic venues for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) where the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held, and the National Aquatics Center nicknamed "the Water Cube" for its unique design. Feel free to take some beautiful picture of these stadiums. A Peking Duck Dinner concludes your full day activities.

Day 18  Beijing  (B,L)

After breakfast, begin the day's activity with a visit to Tian'anmen Square, the largest urban square in the world. Then, move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the "Forbidden City", the biggest palace complex in the world. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvest.

Day 19  Beijing  (B)

Transfer to the airport for the flight back to sweet home.
