Guilin Weather

The location of Guilin makes it has good environment and pleasing weather conditions. It lies in the northeast of Guangxi Province, China. The weather in this region is normally under the control of the tropical monsoon, which is considered to be of distinctive seasons, pleasant temperature, and abundant rainfall. The native people describe the climate with this proverb "Scarcely snowing in winter, perennially flowers blossoming"

Spring

Beautiful Scenery of GuilinSpring is from early March to the late April. The weather is pleasant but it mostly drizzles. So it is the best time for you to see magic misty Li River. During this period, the northern of China is still cold and sometimes even snow, however, Guilin has stepped into spring, colorful flowers are blossoming, willows are turning green… The drizzles wake up everything. A T-shirt with a jacket will make you very comfortable in this season. But please remember, a rain wear or an umbrella is a must if you visit in this season. "

Summer

Summer is from late April to the late August. The weather in summer is hot and humid. The rainfall is abundant, so the green trees cover the whole city and the air is very fresh. The rainfall concentrates in May and June and it rains cats and dogs. It can reaches up to 1,000 mm, making up over 55% of the total rainfall of a year. You also can meet fairy and graceful misty rain of Li River during your Guilin trip. In this season, the temperature goes rather high and sunny days are more than that in spring. July is the hottest month and the average temperature is 28.3 degree centigrade. Shorts or slacks, T-shirts, skirts are the best choice of this period and it would be wise to bring sun glasses and sun block with you. Some medicine of preventing heatstroke and insect repellant are also better to be with you.

Autumn

Autumn is from the early September to the end of November. It is the golden season to visit this beautiful city. The weather is pleasant and it is almost clear and cool and the temperature is around 20 degrees centigrade. The water of Li River is as smooth as a mirror, so it is the best to enjoy the reflections of the hills and cloud along the both sides of the river. During the late September, the sweet-scented osmanthus are blossoming and give off its fragrance everywhere in the city. Casual, comfortable and light clothes plus a thin jacket would be enough in this season.

Winter

From the end of November to February next year is the winter in Guilin. The coldest month is January; the average temperature being 7.6 degrees Centigrade, but it is cold the wet. The coldest time is around the period of the Chinese New Year. Snow is rare in the city, but there is the chance to enjoy snow in the mountains like Longji Rice Terraces. Travelling in this season, you have to take warm clothes such as woolen sweaters, coat or down jackets.

When is the Best Time to visit Guilin?

Considering the weather and climate conditions, the best time is between April and October. During this time, the area is at its most green. The whole area appears quiet beautiful sights over and there.
